Since we began searching for our family origins, we have visited a number of cemeteries as a part of that quest. Libraries, courthouses, the internet, and dry, dusty books contain many helpful facts about them; but nothing makes our ancestors seem more real than to walk where they walked and to stand where they finally came to rest. Here are some of the pictures that we have made; and some of our experiences in finding their graves. (By the way, any future descendant who searches for graves will have an easy time with ours. Drive into the east entrance of Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, and we are right in front of you — upper right corner spaces of the columbarium.)
